The Encampment

October 10, 2008

Last Saturday, I made an early morning visit downtown to photograph The Encampment, a temporary art installation by Thom Sokoloski & Jenny McCowan. Designed to highlight the plight of the intellectually challenged, it featured sixty-eight 19th century style expeditionary tents.

Each tent was lit from within at night and should properly have been viewed in darkness, but I got sunrise shots instead. Perhaps if I had made a nighttime visit, it would have looked more like this:

Fantastic shots, super composition. I love the colours in the first one.

You really did get an awesome perspective on that first one and it was a wonderful morning sky!

And whatever you did to simulate night in the 2nd shot made it look amazing. The buildings in the distance make it allllllll the better!

You have a wonderful way of using strong lines in your compositions. The first image is very compelling. And the architectural contrasts in the second image is interesting.
