Gatineau Park

I got up before dawn to take a 30 minute drive to Pink Lake in Gatineau Park on Saturday. When I arrived in was still pitch black out so I waited in the dark (and deserted) parking lot until there was barely enough light to set out on the trail around the lake. By the time the light was reasonably good, several other photographers had arrived and we sort of leap-frogged our way around the trail, trying to avoid shooting each other. Anyway, here is a sample:

Julie, this is stunning, I so look forward to seeing the other shots. As someone who is never awake before dawn, let alone up and out and ready to do something, I always enjoy seeing what it looks like through someone else’s eyes/lens

The times (very few times) I have set out before dawn to capture the beauty that surrounds us have ALWAYS been worth the effort. I wonder why I don’t do it more frequently? Hmmm.

I normally don’t get to bed to the weeee hours of the night so it’s hard for me to get up early for sunrises…i guess i’m always going to be a sunset girl.

This is exactly what Mike and I were looking for on our mini trip but could not find. Your photo is simply amazing and I agree with Jen – Very sellable image. Excellent work. Your fall shot is the real deal unlike my psychadelic version.
